I love this - I absolutely love this. Can we have a time to share accomplishments of the past year? It's obvious we have political accomplishments to share. But how maybe some personal ones as well.

The county conventions can be held on the 18th or 25th. Our chair set our convention on the 25th before he knew that was the same day as J-J. I'll have to skip J-J. I can't miss our convention. And thanks, Betsy -- we really need you at the convention.
I have the NCDP Jefferson-Jackson dinner written down on April 25 on my calendar. But I can't find it on the NCDP website. Maybe Jerimee can check on the date for us?

Okay. So we need to talk about catering. I am a college student so I do not have the money to pay up front. We woul either need to find a catering company that would accept payment after the event, or have people on this site who are attending pay in advance.
This is assuming that one of our attendees is not cooking the main dish.
And CH it is. I will need to know where exactly it is but that works for me.
April 25 works also. I had to double check when the OC Convention is but that is the week before so we are goo.

Although the food is an important subject. I need to know where y'all want to have this thing. I live in Hillsborough so I would like it to be around that area. I have a few ideas about where to have it but I need approval for the general location y'all want it at.
One thing we should start doing is guessing how many people will come. If there are 10 people, we can just wing it. I'm thinking there will be a lot more.
Last year we had Bullocks Barbecue bring chicken, pork, coleslaw and baked beans ... plus tea ... I think. We charged $10 a person which seemed to work well. We can use them again, or someone else. I can make the phone call if I have a number and a date.
Remind me to not be in charge of coleslaw. Last year I put it two giant trays in the garage refrigerator until it was time to eat and ... forgot to bring them out when the food was ready. Duh.
If we're expecting a smallish crowd we could get food from Mediterranean Deli ... it's great Greek food ... but a little more work on our part in terms of set up and clean up.
If it's a large crowd, we need more of a production mindset. Otherwise somebody has to spend all his or her time working.
If it's raining (which it did last year) we can handle 80 people or so. If it's nice out, the sky's the limit.
Other questions.
1. Scholarships? Should we give X people free admission or a chance to work as volunteers?
2. Elected officials (and candidates) get in free.
3. Who should come? If you're wondering whether this event if for you, it is.
4. Fancy name tags?
5. Special guests? The governor's a blogger you know.
I vote for April 25th. That's the last Saturday in April, which is what it was last year. Let's make it a tradition!
(Easter is on the 12th, in case you were wondering.)

I've been to your house at least 5 times James, and I think the smallest crowd I saw was 50+. We should probably do the barbecue thing (I almost drooled typing that), charge whatever per person (except electeds), definitely some sort of nametag (I forgot my own name a couple of times), and I will make my world-famous (very small world) pasta salad.
And for the Governor (if she's reading this), if you show up I will give you my lucky rock. I...don't have a lucky rock right now, but I will find one and give it to you at the thing. If you show up.

Are you arranging the grub like last year James or do you want to turn that over to Mr. M. The BBQ was good but we could also do burgers and dogs. The sooner you find out the price the quicker we'll each know how much $$ to kick in. I believe most people want to contribute something so we could have a list to choose from like beverages, sides and desserts.
Saturday or Sunday works for me....March?...April?...May? Later?
May 2nd It is. Don't want to

May 2nd
I think there may be County Conventions on the 18th as well. Would put a serious hurting on how many candidates/pols would show up.

Veggie burgers & veggie baked beans like last year. Any requests?
I'll do what I did last year
I basically brought everything we own - folding tables and a couple of teenagers.
I'll also be in charge of inviting our electeds and our candidates..... just like last time. We had a nice crowd of non-bloggers.
I'll also bring a side and a dessert.
