Accusations of / Actual Impropriety of / Wake Dems, and David Young and Andrew Whalen
Since I am apparently "suspect" as a new Blogger (although not a newcomer) to BlueNC, suspect despite being an elected Wake County Party officer and a former Democratic Nominee for office in 2006, let me just say this:
As mentioned in a previous post, I did not air "dirty laundry" as a first choice of venue for exposing the problems in the Wake County Democratic Party. I did send try to file an official complaint with the State Democratic Party in April, 2010. It was sent to the Chair of the Council of Review, who could not act on it (for correct procedural reasons), but he forwarded it on to David Young and Andrew Whalen for any action the State needed to take.
David Young has never responded to the letter of complaint, which included a long list of violations of the State Plan of Organization at the Wake County Executive Committee Meeting and Election in April 2010 and my concerns a about Jack Nichols' not fulfilling the duties as Chairman of the Wake County Democratic Party.
Now that the evidence that backs up my "accusation" is beginning to come out:
Where does this leave David Young, as State Party Chair? Is he not also culpable and also in violation of the Plan of Organization? Was it not his duty as Chair to investigate my complaint and respond to me?
I think he owes me and the entire Wake County Executive Committee either an explanation of how Jack did meet his obligations as Chair, or an explanation of why he as State Chair, did nothing?
Several petitions have been filed by John Brooks and P. R. Latta requesting responses to specific violations, but as far as I have heard, they have never gotten any replies to those either. The Council has scheduled a hearing, but did it for the same day as the State Meeting of the Senior Dems. How clever, or ignorant, was that?
Where do we have to complain other than on this Blog?

Is there a pattern, perhaps . . . ?
Funny, isn't it, how people seem to not respond to your demands. What could you be doing wrong?

maybe they have their heads in the sand?
Many people up the totem pole in the party are just ignoring their responsibilities in the party. It's no different than the folks lower down the pole ignoring them also.
Why have rules if no one follows them? It's like what happens when politicians don't live up to their campaign promises - and no one holds them accountable.
We need to start holding everyone responsible for what they promise to do, and if they don't play by the rules. Election time is coming up.

Exactly.
And our candidates have already stepped up or been chosen via the Primary. Party infighting right now could (very easily) have a deleterious effect on fundraising, resulting in far fewer Democrats for us to hold responsible after the election.
So exactly when do we address whether or not party leaders....
...are doing their jobs? We are talking about whether or not the party leaders - not the candidates - are doing their job.
Right now - party leaders handing over the reins of power to OFA is a bad decision.
Our party leaders were elected by us, but we didn't vote to let them hand over control to an organization that isn't elected. Yes OFA was Obama's campaign organization, but no one elected them. Right now - party leaders handing over the reigns of power to OFA is a bad decision.
Many people have been asking these questions since right after the 2008 elections - why is the party letting the Obama campaign decide the direction of the party? Please show me the section of the DNC By-Laws or the NCDP Plan Of Organization where the party can hand over control of the party to campaign organizations?

Party Building versus Resume Building (revisited)
As Chris pointed out in his replies, when would your suggest addressing problems with the Democratic Party Leadership--after the losses mount in November?
I am not doing this for my health or for resume building. As a good friend pointed out to me yesterday, "Stress kills, and absolute stress kills absolutely."
end of discussion -- by me, at aleast.
