Action Alert: Maxway Madness!

Just wanted to let you folks know of a picket that is scheduled for this Saturday, March 5th. It is a protest against Art Pope, billionaire conservative who is "buying" elections and political influence in this state. Mr. Pope owns several discount stores in the Southeast, among them are Maxway, Super 10, Roses, Bargain Town, Bill's Dollar Store, Value Mart, Treasure Mart, and Super Dollar. People will be picketing the Maxway store located at 1905 Poole Road in Raleigh. We will be assembling at noon.

for initiating this protest, and for sharing it with us. I'm stuck on a farm in Maryland, so I can't be there, but I encourage you all to join this front line action against the growing corporate takeover of North Carolina's democracy.

If the people shopping at Maxway only knew how Art Pope is using the profits from their purchases, they'd never set foot in one of his god-forsaken stores.
