If you, like me, have a Republican Representative in the US House, they owe you an answer. And Senators Dole and Burr owe us all. You can find links to their web contact forms on the BlueNC Take Action page. Here's the question you deserve an answer to:
Given the facts:
- Most Americans want a timetable for bringing Americans home from Iraq;
- The new democratically-elected Iraqi government wants a timetable; and
- General Casey—the top military commander in Iraq—wants a timetable;
Do our Republican representatives still plan to go along with an open-ended occupation of Iraq? Whose interest are they representing, anyway?
And don't worry about the simple math problem (like "1 + 4 = ?") you'll now have to do to send an email from the US Congress contact forms. That just means that our elected officials will be hearing from fewer Republicans.
