AFP and Civitas sponsor Tea Party "Summits"

The state chapter of Americans for Prosperity, the conservative anti-tax, smaller government group, is trying to get the North Carolina Tea Party movement organized.
The Raleigh-based chapter is organizing two "North Carolina Tea Party Summits" — one in Hickory and one in Wilmington to help galvanize the movement, Rob Christensen reports.
And here's their fancy new website, where you can find handy answers to yet-to-be-asked questions, like:

Absolutely not.
Okay. And for those of you thinking about the word "Hijack", wipe that from your mind. The new words we will use to replace that wildly misused one are "Focus" and "Channel", so make a note of it:
This event is planned to help keep the Tea Party Movement active and effective in 2010 in North Carolina. Although the Tea Party Movement must continue to be relentless on national issues, we would like to help focus the Tea Party Movement on important issues in North Carolina at the same time.
In North Carolina limited government and conservative/libertarian ideas do not have any chance to be heard in the General Assembly. We are the highest taxed state in our region. Our schools are failing. We can not get a vote to stop forced annexation, stop eminent domain abuse, limit spending, add more charter schools and much more. This summit hopes to help channel the tea party energy towards some of these issues.
Again, I must needs be emphasize the importance of our State Legislative races this election. Republicans have stood candidates across the board, will likely funnel a great deal of money to these races, and are now trying to redirect a national movement inwards.
We take these things for granted at our own risk.
