All Holds Barred

According to the Senate website--
Hold: An informal practice by which a Senator informs his or her floor leader that he or she does not wish a particular bill or other measure to reach the floor for consideration. The Majority Leader need not follow the Senator's wishes, but is on notice that the opposing Senator may filibuster any motion to proceed to consider the measure.

Obstructing the president's appointments of people to help administer the country's laws and then complaining about his difficulty governing has to stop. And the only way to make it stop is for the Democrats to decide not to honor any more holds of any sort regarding executive appointments. If the threat is a filibuster of each of them, by individual Republican Senators, then call their bluff, immediately following health care reform passage! If the legislature grinds to a halt because of such individual filibusters, those responsible for them will be front and center. Why continue to collude with such people?

Perhaps even the teabaggers would turn and, as they have promised, start picketing and vote out all who get in the way of running this government for the well-being of our people. Who could disagree with that? Obstructionists over the side first!
