Amendment One
Maybe this is a stupid question but I have no clue. I know that churches cannot advocate candidates for office and keep their tax exempt status. So why can every church I pass post signs and vans and such supporting Amendment One? Is it because it is state and not federal?
I know of at least one church that posted a sign to Vote Against. That sign was reported stolen. That said, I would prefer churches keep out of it either way. Just wondering what the law says and why it is different in this case.

The reality is that the churches do this because the churches are lost. They have completely adopted the doctrine of the Pharisees, drawing hedges around what they perceive are the laws of God, and then seeking to write the results into civil law. They have converted the word of life into a weapon of death, and all the while they are killing the children of God they think they are doing God a favor.
The churches that are doing this, and many of them are, frankly I would NOT want to stand near them in the judgement.
Same Sex Marriage
It is a morally responsible position to oppose same sex marriage.
Who made you the authority on morals?
This is why we shouldn't be legislating morality. Who gets to define it? God, Allah, Buddah? Keep your religion out of our government. That is what the founding fathers intended. The AMERICAN position is to vote AGAINST Amendment 1.
This straight man and his wife have already voted AGAINST this piece of SHIT amendment. We are for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. If gays were suddenly allowed to marry it would not change my relationship with my wife in the slightest. It may however allow other AMERICANS to pursue their happiness as should be.
I hope you bible banging tea baggers are ready for the day when perhaps another religion becomes the majority in this country. You will no doubt be happy to abide by their rules since this is the door you are opening.
same sex marriage
you need to learn to read. same sex marriage is already illegal in north carolina. this amendment goes far far far beyond same sex marriage and puts a whole host of other families and children at risk.
