Another shadowy Super PAC goes after Kay Hagan

It's getting hard to keep up with them:

Our America, a Super PAC based in North Carolina, has announced that it has purchased a number of billboards that will highlight Senator Kay Hagan's continued refusals to back up her promises with regard to Obamacare. "On more than 20 occasions, Senator Hagan has stated that she will protect the rights of citizens to keep their health plan and to see the doctors of their choice", said Allison Milbridge, spokesperson for Our America.

Our America is working in several different states with a goal of returning Republican majority to the Senate. The group is preparing to release this commercial ( in Minnesota targeting Senator Al Franken, the actual deciding vote in the passage of Obamacare.

Maybe you can find something more on Allison Milbridge, but I couldn't. And it looks like this is another case where the "Headquarters" is actually a UPS Store. Which should be a serious red flag for the NC BOE, but apparently not.

Keeping pace with the N&O

Or trying to, anyway. The PAC was initially started by (Treasurer) AnnaMaria Gallozzi, with links to Art Pope's Civitas:

Field Representative The Leadership Institute

Nonprofit; 51-200 employees; Political Organization industry

August 2013 – Present (8 months) South Carolina and North Carolina

Recruit conservative and libertarian student leaders on college campuses
Create student groups and help existing student groups grow
Train students on political activism and for media involvement
Organize and produce events that garner earned media coverage

Volunteer Civitas

Nonprofit; 11-50 employees; Philanthropy industry

2013 – 2013 (less than a year) Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area

Assisted the Director of Development in planning for the 2013 Conservative Leadership Conference (CLC) for the 400+ of attendees. Activities included grassroots outreach, event scheduling, acting as a liaison for guest speakers and their handlers, and mobilizing volunteers through task assignment and scheduling.

Philanthropy industry? Riiight.

While the N&O mentions the Leadership Institute, they (of course) failed to mention her previous (?) association with Art Pope's political machine.

College kid

AnnaMarie's a kid just out of college. Perhaps her position as "Treasurer" is just another part of the shell game.

Our America

was founded last year by GOP "libertarian" former NM governor Gary Johnson.

"What I see from the folks who are opposing our agenda is whining coming from losers." -- Thom Tillis

Is this a different one?

Supposedly this one is based in NC.

Conservatives are founding so many of these things and they all have similar names - all containing some variations on "America", "Freedom", "Values", etc - that I could see two unrelated PACs using the same name.

The article says Our America operates in several states. I presume they had to file papers in NC. I'm guessing it's the NC "chapter". Not entirely clear, but that's what it looks like from here. And shadowy NC SuperPAC usually leads back to the Pope web.

"What I see from the folks who are opposing our agenda is whining coming from losers." -- Thom Tillis

I think it is different

The one "headquartered" in NC (Our America, Inc.) seems to be exclusively targeting Democratic Senators, while Gary Johnson's PAC was supposed to be an issue thing.

It's very possible they're connected, but the bread-crumb trail is scant, so...
