Are You Sick of This Yet?

Well today the North Carolina Legislature passed a law that would place the burden of paying for the cleanup of the Coal Ash spill in the Dan River on to the taxpayers. To me this is truly a naked act of an abuse of power by the North Carolina State Government.

Duke Energy, the sole proprietor and owner of the Coal Ash pond, the responsible organization for the upkeep and maintenance of this facility is now passing on the cost of their negligence and the cleanup to the taxpayer for a spill that was their fault to begin with.

There is no shame in the McCrory administration and no shame at all in the GOP led Legislature. While cutting every social program they can, cutting off unemployment, and trampling on the rights of the people of North Carolina, I ask you....ARE YOU SICK OF THIS YET?

To all the Democrats that helped put these lawless, shameless, criminals in power, I sincerely hope that you are proud of yourself. For the Independents, I would like to ask you to please reconsider your position on the GOP/Tea Party. For Republicans, I want to ask you to stand with your fellow citizens, your fellow North Carolinans to demand that your party withdraw this burden your party has place on all North Carolinans. Have we not given Duke Energy enough? In 2013 Duke Energy made $9B in profits, they paid no Federal Taxes and we gave them $300M in bonuses which cancelled out the measly $3M Duke paid in state taxes.

It is time for ALL North Carolinans, especially the Republicans and Independents in this state to take off their rose colored glasses and see these criminals for who and what they really are...PROFITEERS!

I would ask that all North Carolinans to remember this day when you get your next Energy Bills and remember this day in May and in November when you stand in the voting booth. Put aside your personal relationship with these criminals, put aside your party politics and bring your love for this state and it's people to the forefront of your thoughts when you vote in May and in November....This is the only way for WE, THE PEOPLE TO BE HEARD!

What bill is this?

I wasn't aware the Legislature had convened (Short Session isn't supposed to start until May 14), or that a bill of this nature was up for review/vote. What gives?

What Bill is This?

Yeah, already seen those

Your wording threw me off a little bit, but I'm sure my wording has thrown a lot more people off in the past. ;)

Sorry for that...

I should have said the Regulatory Reform Act...
