Don Vaughan's stolen seat gets a challenger

Justin Conrad declares his intent:

The basis for Conrad's campaign is job creation through the small business sector, and he feels his background as president of Libby Hill Seafood Restaurants and manager of Bay Hill Seafood Sales uniquely qualifies him as an advocate for small businesses.

He may be onto something there. He's found short-term employment for billions of popcorn shrimp, rescuing them from their desultory lives as bottom-feeders and giving the healthcare industry a boost at the same time. I'm impressed, but then I'm easily impressed, so...

Sounds like an egomaniac

Plus his comment about "everybody knows where there's wasteful spending" is typical R baloney. Too lazy to do the work of actually figuring out where he thinks that wasteful spending is.

I wonder how many candidates will be running on the good old "cap the gas tax" and "improve roads" oxymoron?

Wrong district

He's running for Senate District 27, not Phil Berger's seat.

This text threw me off:

...the seat vacated when incumbent Democrat Don Vaughan was thrown into the same district as Republican Majority Leader Phil Berger. The realigned district heavily favors Republicans, so the race will likely be decided in the May 8 primary.
