Binker at his best

A must read regarding the Kay-Hagan-for-VP silliness.

I returned from the beach relaxed and in a good mood. But my morning through e-mail and ye olde RSS reader gives me the felling [sic] I returned with sand in the rhetorical shorts.

Mark then proceeds, as only Mark can do, to shred the source of the original rumor by digging into the reality of North Carolina election returns over the past two cycles. Then he wraps with the cautionary note below.

So why bother writing about this and not just ignore this guy? Because we’re likely to see more and more writers from outside the state opining about how North Carolina will behave in a presidential election year. The Democratic nominating convention in Charlotte is going to draw all sorts of attention, as is the fact that North Carolina is now seen as a battleground state with a cache of electoral votes worth scrapping over.

Some of these writers will be pretty well informed, having visited, reported and taken a deep dive into our election results. (Charlie Cook, there’s a hat tip on line one for you.)

Others writers, well, will be wrong. And I’m afraid the latter is going to outweigh the former for the next 18 months.

Felling

An ironic Freudian schlip.
