Groundswell of Support for David Parker

The News & Observer reports a groundswell of support for keeping David Parker as Chair of the NCDP. The N&O report is timely for we can see from the Bluenc online poll that support for Parker’s three announced opponents (Baldwin, Eaton and Vaughan) is tepid at best.

Leading the charge for the retention of David Parker, Bill Franklin is a retired Colonel in the US Army and a longstanding member of the Alamance Democratic Executive Committee and the State Executive Committee (SEC).

In an email blast to the SEC, Franklin argued that concerted efforts to remove Parker amount to an orchestrated plot to sabotage Parker’s reforms at the NCDP that empowered the grassroots.

In his now classic missive, Franklin identified Elaine Marshall as the ringleader of the hostile takeover of the NCDP.

Faison's attack against Perdue draws fire

Bill Faison's serial attacks on Governor Bev Perdue reached a climax yesterday, when Faison incorrectly told WRAL that the Governor would not seek re-election due to recent indictments.

The Governor's staff immediately refuted Faison's prediction stating that the Governor announced long ago that she was running for re-election, and she was now raising funds for her campaign.

Renee Price, a resident of Faison's home county, Orange, sent out a statement supporting Governor Perdue and pointing out Faison's mistakes.

Here is the statement from Renee Price:

For Immediate Release

Renee Price, citizen of Orange County, issued the following statement in response to Representative Bill Faison’s ongoing series of public attacks against Governor Beverly Perdue:

Ringleader of Party of Five, James Crawford raised money for Burr & Dole

In recent days, longserving Democrat, James W. Crawford of Oxford in Granville County has attained a new and shocking level of notoriety as the ringleader of the infamous Party of Five collaborators who voted with the Republican majority in the House of Representatives. The poisonous fruit of this nefarious conspiracy will impose a disastrous budget featuring draconian cuts of $900 million to the University of North Carolina as well as slashing funds for Planned Parenthood and Medicaid in what many now see as a political pact with the devil.

While the Party rank and file is stunned to see senior Democrat Crawford openly conspiring with Republicans to topple the bright, shining edifice of public instruction built by progressive Democratic leaders in the mold of Terry Sanford and Jim Hunt, little is generally known about his political ideology and his personal background. Crawford's background is a fascinating case of political devilry.
