The classic saying is, "Better Late than Never". Well, at what point does being late start to become unacceptable?

In 2003 Walter Jones voted against the disasterous Prescription Drug Plan pushed for by the Republican Party. This is and was a good thing.

However, he is just now getting to talking about it with the press.

I didnt see an open thread, so thought I should start one.

Raising Kaine has already impressed most of us with what they have done in the past on the state level. They continued that trend by working with ActBlue. Well. Here they go again. They will be endorsing candidates in the Democratic primary in 2007.

For each primary race that RK identifies for a potential endorsement, the candidates will be invited to introduce themselves and to interact with our community over a period of about 10 days. We're talking live blogs, Blog Talk Radio, diaries and comments, and whatever other way the candidates may creatively discover to reach out to us. Each candidate will have an equal opportunity to make his/her case - but it's up to the candidate to seize that opportunity and to make the most of it. If one candidate in a race chooses not to seek the endorsement, we'll obviously take that into account in making our decision. Hopefully, all candidates will take advantage of this opportunity to introduce themselves and their positions, strengths, and vision to Virginia's most passionate progressives.

On January 23rd I announced a movement to try and convince Brad Miller to run against Elizabeth Dole. That led to my first reccomended diary on dailykos. That thread (and my signature) has led to over $500 in donations to Brad. While that may seem like a small amount in terms of what is needed to run for Senate (and it is), it is a sign to Brad that we want him to run, and that we think he can win.

Follow below, as I once again lay out the case for Brad.

In my diary ranking the potential pick up opportunities in North Carolina I ranked NC-03 as #3, a second tier pickup opportunity. There were more than a few people who asked for more information so I thought I should oblige.

Recently there have been a ton of diaries about John Edwards at dailykos. I thought that I should point out something to those at BlueNC who might not be reading all 10 of these a day.

In the next few days we will reach the end of March. 2 weeks after that, campaigns will be filing their first quarter reports. I am looking forward to this report, mostly to see how bad Liddy is doing.

However, for the entire month of April there will be one story. How much did the presidential contenders raise? Followed by, "What do the numbers mean?"

Well, a while ago John Edwards passed over 1 million dollars through ActBlue. I was impressed by this, to say the least. However, in the past week or two he has raised well over 600,000. In fact, in the past 4 hours or so he has raised about 50,000 through ActBlue (unless my math is off).

For those of you who live near Raleigh, or have driven here lately, you have probably seen some green signs popping up. These signs say "Dix 306" and little more. Well, what are they?

Same thing at Kos

As some of you may or may not know, I occupy a fairly unique position in the political world. Just like most of you I am obsessed by politics. I would estimate that in a normal week I spend 75 plus percent of my time involved in something political. This ranges from blogging to reading the newspaper to going to my classes in political science to lying in bed (is insomnia genetic?).

However, I said that I occupy a UNIQUE position from the rest of you. And I think that I do. I spend a large amount of time blogging, in between my real life activities. However, my real life activity is what seperates me. You see, when I log off I go to work, and when I go to work I stay in politics.

When people ask me what career I am going into when I graduate I have one answer. Campaigns. You see, I have only had one job in my entire life not connected to politics, and that was a temp job I only did for one month. I not only live and breathe politics, I wouldnt be able to eat without politics.

Consequently, I see most issues from both a campaign side and from a blog side.

By now most of you will probably have read either this short post on BlueNC, or the initial post at DailyKos.

Well, I gave the guy a call, to talk about exactly what is intended and what is needed.

In the N&O's Under the Dome today it was reported that Nathan Tabor has joined the presidential campaign of Duncan Hunter. For those that dont remember, Tabor's views on the UN make Jesse Helms look left of center.

Think of this as an open thread.

Now with links
Tabor's site
Hunter's

Think of Tabor as a crazy Jesse Helms and Duncan Hunter as a "mainstream" Pat Buchanan
