Meanwhile back in the Gulf
Submitted by boball on Sun, 07/04/2010 - 9:39amJust a short note and a video I found interesting. It may be part marketing, part politics, part capitalism and part engineering.
One take away is that the good folks at BP (and I mean that) are doing their job, one which no one wishes they had to do.
When you see that talent/engineering on display here one can only imagine what we could accomplish in other, less destructive efforts.
Happy 4th.

And now for something completely different
Submitted by boball on Thu, 02/18/2010 - 4:09pmFor many years I have been enrolled as a freshman in Thinking 101, a course that begins when you are born and ends when you go back to the place you were before you were born.
There is this very cool video some of you might have seen. If you can explain the concepts, let me know. That will be be me over in the corner curled into a fetal position.
Part 1:
Part II (yes it is more of the same--it does say "10" after all):
Healthcare / insurance Blog
Submitted by boball on Wed, 02/17/2010 - 11:15amFor those of you that like charts, graphs and data, the Corporate Research Group has a Healthcare Blog which speaks to the business of healthcare.
I do not know enough to endorse this site, but the discussions and arguments seem rational, and that's all I can say.

R.I.P. Howard Zinn
Submitted by boball on Mon, 02/01/2010 - 2:34pmI recently read a good post over at CommonDreams.org. It was written by David Potorti who lost a brother on 9/11 at the WTC. David remembers Howard Zinn and reminds us what it means to be a patriot. That with a few words Howard Zinn could affect the life of David Potorti, and so on, should give us hope that ideas and commitment matter. Like a pebble striking still water, our words can spread like ripples to touch the distant shore.
