Time for Flat Rate Attorney Fees?

I find it rather interesting that the self appointed governing body and regulators of the free world (lawyers) have been quite successful at placing set fees for medical procedures, medical tests, medical equipment, etc. Why then do they have no desire to have their own fees regulated? Are they afraid fleecing will become a thing of the past?

Let's face it ... a divorce is a divorce. Go sit in on any divorce case and they are all the same. Oh sure, the names, dates, and places change ... but the rest of it is boilerplate law. This one cheated on that one. The other one didn't bring the kids back when they were supposed to. Then one of them threatens the other ... and it is the same old story over and over.

Why not live by the regulations and fee structures the attorneys of this great land have placed on physicians. It's pretty simple stuff.

Simple Divorce $750
Child Support Worksheet/Order $250 (a fourth grader can fill in the blanks!!)

NC Bar Ethics Vice Chairman David N. Allen "Violator of Decency"

The Legal Justice Corporation has formally awarded Attorney David N. Allen the North Carolina State Bar Vice Chairman of the Ethics Committee the "Violator of Decency" award. According to Gary G. Gleason (the President of the Legal Justice Corporation), this much deserved award was presented to Attorney David N. Allen for his lack of response to a letter sent certified/registered/return receipt from a citizen of North Carolina. There has been no response from Attorney David N. Allen (or the other 19 members of the "Ethics" Committee who also received the certified/registered/return receipt mailing) in over 120 days. The Legal Justice Corporation will award the "Violator of Decency" award to the remaining members of the "Ethics" Committee who received the letter over the next several weeks.

Detective Gary McFadden ... He has my Vote!!

Detective Gary McFadden is a living legend .

There are not many men like him. McFadden spent two decades as a homicide investigator with the Charlotte, North Carolina Police Department. His job was never 9 to 5 with assigned breaks. He witnessed the end results of some of the most brutal killings in the metro area. More importantly, he witnessed the hurt it brought to family members and friends. He spent his time off either bonding with his wife and children, tending to his two favorite hobbies - grilling out or fly fishing, or speaking out against crime. Detective McFadden continues to speak at local churches, schools, street corners, community gatherings, homeless shelters, prisons, and on the streets of low income housing. He makes a difference in lives of the people he meets and talks with.
