Time Warner Cable has announced trial runs of their tiered Internet service in four cities. I live in one of them, Greensboro, NC. The other three are Rochester, NY, Austin, TX, and San Antonio, TX. The similarity of these four cities is simple…there is no other broadband Internet provider besides Time Warner. We do have Clearwire in Greensboro, but what people don’t know is that Time Warner owns 32 million shares (a $550 million investment) of Clearwire.

So tonight I received a message from Andrew Bates at the Facebook group Stop Liddy Dole 2008. The message was sent in support of David Young to be our next party chair. I happen not to support David for multiple reasons; his views on collective bargaining, workers rights and verified voting are questionable at best and I don't feel the sitting chair of the NCDP and Governor should crown anyone the new chair. That is the State Executive Committee voting body's job. I also did not feel it was appropriate to use the Dole group to send out his message and I happened to be an administrator for the group. So as I had access to send my own message I sent the following:

I just received a message from this group asking for support for David Young. I will say this...we have worked very hard to turn this state blue. All that work will go to waste if we knight David Young at the upcoming SEC meeting this weekend.

So I lost my primary in May and then disappeared of the face of the planet. What have I been up to?

Well first and foremost, I took some time to breathe. Running a campaign is really the equivalent of going to the gym all day working out with heavy weights and reading quantum physics at the same time.

I also still had political responsibilities as a Human Relations Commissioner for the City of Greensboro. My dog in the fight for the last 6 months has been housing. A little back story for you...

I haven't written in a while, and plan on getting back to it soon, but I couldn't hold this from you. According to the AP Story in the Greensboro News and Record, Hugh Webster has been indicted on two felony charges, embezzlement and exploitation of an elderly adult. Link here.

I know I am not supposed to, but the time is right. I am endorsing Jim Neal for US Senate. It was tough for me to do this. I am a candidate and I am not supposed to take sides in any race. Even tougher is the candidate I am opposing here is a friend and a power house in my home county. I thought long and hard about this decision as I know both candidates fairly well.
