There is a God...Specter Supports Public Option
Submitted by mbking87 on Thu, 06/25/2009 - 8:34pmIt seems that Senator Specter has had a change of heart. Speaking with a group of union activists, Specter announced that he supported a public option for the healthcare bill. According to Morning Call, this position shift is most likely due to a combination of Specter's upcoming primary battle with US Rep. Joe Sestak and his 17-year low favorability ratings.

Thoughts on ABC's Healthcare Forum
Submitted by mbking87 on Thu, 06/25/2009 - 4:21pmSo last night, I watched Charlie Gibson's talk with the President. I had hoped that it would be a perfect opportunity for him to finally shed some light on the situation, instead of having everyone else do it for him. Honestly, after watching it, I don't know what to think. I don't know how many people stayed up to watch it, but I hope it wasn't a lot. The president really didn't do that great of a job explaining his plan. Of course, I try to keep up with it on a day-to-day basis, and I still don't have a clue on the details. He kept reiterating the point that "If you like the coverage you have, you can keep it." He answered nearly all the questions with that one response. But for me, that's really not what is at issue. What happened to the Barack Obama from last year who deemed healthcare reform as a moral obligation. What about the 45 million people without any coverage that you promised to help. All this talk about cutting costs is starting to get irritating.
