Just a friendly reminder!

Richard Clarke on the 9-11 "docu-drama"

Comments by Richard Clarke, former counterterrorism czar under Presidents Clinton and Bush, and current ABC News consultant:

As someone who was directly involved in almost every event depicted in the fictionalized docudrama, "The Path to 9-11," I believe it is an egregious distortion that does a deep disservice both to history and to those in both the Clinton and Bush administrations who are depicted.

Sadly, ABC's Entertainment Division hired a production company and screen writer who were apparently unqualified to deal with this historically important subject matter. That error appears to have been compounded by the failure of some of the docudrama's consultants to insure that the account was accurate. Some of the most outrageous scenes were removed after a recent senior level review. What remains, however, is not the true story as told by the 9-11 Commission.

Charlotte Observer's Tim Funk: Serious Journalist?

The respected publication, National Journal, called Larry Kissell's (NC-08) gas event a "sweet deal" for some motorists. The Charlotte Observer's, Tim Funk, calls it a gimmick.

I'm not going to try to make a comparison between the National Journal and The Charlotte Observer. There is none. However, I do believe that a professional journalist should have a better command of the English language than your average third grader. Tim Funk apparently does not.

The primary definition of the word "gimmick" in every source I checked runs along the line of, "trick, or deceptive tactic". Selling gas for $1.22 to over 500 people in an area where many are out of work, and stretching the event out more than two hours beyond the time given so that every person in line could be served is not a gimmick.

Cant see anything!

Everybody, if this post's I want you all to know I didnt dissappear again. It appears nuthin I post will publish,so I will see ya when I see ya I guess.
All my Best,
Dan

Poor Stagemanager

You know it's a sad day in Puppetland when John Hood has nothing better to do than whine about the mean old News and Observer and the bullies at BlueNC. But whining he is, and it's one of the funniest things I've read in a long, long time.

Let's take it apart.

RALEIGH – I’d like to be able to claim credit for a colossal, unprecedented feat of public-relations hocus pocus. That would be quite a rush. Unfortunately, the facts would not bear out such a claim.

Not that facts are an impediment to some. Which brings me to Jim Protzman and his allegation that the Raleigh News & Observer has become a mouthpiece for conservatism in general and the John Locke Foundation in particular. Protzman, a former member of the Chapel Hill Town Council and strategic director for the Raleigh public-relations firm CapStrat, is the main founder of a blog site, BlueNC, for progressive Democrats. While the site itself is worth an occasional glance, for those wanting a sense of what some North Carolina Democratic activists are thinking about and working on, Protzman’s contributions (under the nom de plume “Anglico”) border on self-parody.

Interview with Craig Weber, Candidate for NC's 3rd Congressional District

“Bullies are in control with total disregard for our civil rights. We have to re-take our "integrity" in this world, which has been abused and convoluted by Bush and his Administration and a Confused Congress, which Walter Jones, Jr. advances and helps sustain.

Cross-posted at the Onslow County Politics web-log.

On August 31st, 2006, I met with Mr. Craig Weber to discuss his candidacy for NC's 3rd District for the U.S. Congress.

Please follow below the fold for the interview.

Reflection

Thanks to everyone that kicked off our massive volunteer push both in-district and at HelpLarry.com in a big, big way this weekend. We're off to a phenomenal start, and with this momentum will definitely be the talk of the nation come November 8th, all thanks to you.

I'd also like to thank everyone that came out for some good bar-be-que, good Gospel music and good fellowship Friday night with Congressman Hefner too. He is such a straight shooter, and it was so refreshing to hear him tell the crowd how he regretted his vote for the NAFTA experiment. Quite a stark contrast to my opponent that recently told Fox News he hasn't made a mistake in 8 years.

My W-S Journal Sharpe LTTE

So, you guys encouraged me to send in some of my blogs to local papers. Thanks for that advice. Here is the condensed version of my previous BlueNC post as published in today's Winston-Salem Journal.

The Vanguard of the Anti-Immigration Movement Comes To Flat Rock

{KKK pic}

The 450-seat Thomas Auditorium on the campus of Blue Ridge Community College in Flat Rock, NC was at least 3/4 full. White people from all over came to hear white people talk about how to have fewer brown people in our country. The two-hour "Immigration Town Hall Meeting" was paid for with your tax dollars, and I didn't hear a voice of dissent all night long. The Taylor for Congress team was there shooting footage for advertisements both during and after the event - call it government subsidized campaigning.

Press Secretary Deborah Potter came up to me, and though we'd never met, said, "Screwy, how are you. You lambasted me...". Ms. Potter was very nice, some might say flirtatious. She couldn't keep her eyes off of me for the first half-hour of the show, and she later told me, "behave yourself" after giggling at the famed Hooligan wit. See this dramatized video capture of Ms. Potter striding into the meeting.

Open Thread: How Do You Balance?

Happy Sunday afternoon, everyone. The site looks so spiffy, I can barely take my eyes off of it. I've got a big writeup of yesterday's Immigration Town Hall Meeting to do, but there's also the competing pull of family, friends, festivals, chores, and football. How do you all balance your political activities with your other priorities? This weekend I gave up a number of opportunities to be with family in order to soak in venom from the sacs of the Republicans and to lampoon them in another, soon to be revealed, project.

How do you balance it all?
