Breaking News: U.S. lost 62,000 jobs (and so did my District)
The U.S. jobless report for June is breaking front page news everywhere today.
WASHINGTON - Employers cut payrolls by 62,000 in June, the sixth straight month of nationwide job losses, underscoring the economy’s fragile state.
Of course, that's not news at all to folks in North Carolina's 8th District where we've lost 62,000 jobs ourselves since Robin Hayes took office.
In fact, if there's even anyone in this bellwether District that never saw this recession on the horizon, it's my opponent, Robin Hayes.
Hayes said the national economy is on the rise. "The economy around the country is very, very strong. Growth continues."
Can you even imagine?
Robin Hayes cast the deciding vote on not one, but two decisive trade bills for George W. Bush that helped send far too many of our jobs overseas.
I want to put North Carolinians and all of America back to work with a moratorium on these bad trade deals until we start to get good paying jobs back. Let's end the tax breaks for multi-national corporations that send our jobs overseas, and encourage small businesses, the backbone of America, to stay here and grow. In honor of Independence Day tomorrow, let's declare our Independence from the Washington politicians like Robin Hayes!
Our campaign introduced a one-of-kind made in North Carolina Kissell for Congress T-shirt this week in honor of the spirit of America, and the response has been incredible. If you haven't chipped in yet to help put America back to work, you can get your T-SHIRT HERE to celebrate your Independence from the Washington politicians...

And do a lot of good on the way to Washington!
We're proud to be able to ship you a Kissell for Congress T-shirt made right here in North Carolina for every donation of $25 or more on this page. Or if you'd rather donate your shirt to dress a walker in North Carolina's 8th District, then please use this link to make a donation of any size to help us take our country back.
Remember, as North Carolina's bellwether 8th goes, so goes the nation. Let's get her back on track together. I appreciate your support and hope you have a blessed and safe Independence Day weekend with your family and friends.

Larry, I'm moving this one to the front page. 62,000 lost jobs is nothing to sneeze at, whether it happens in a month nationwide or in a district during someone's political tenure.
That's almost 6,900 jobs lost per year
Those look like Rust Belt numbers, not numbers for a district straddling two of the fastest-growing metro areas in the country. Wonder if there's data like this out for other congressmen.
Hayes doesn't care.
Never has. He's part of the entrenched Republican juggernaut committed to the rich getting richer and the poor getting screwed (so the rich can get even richer). How much damage should one person be allowed to do?

Ha!
Perfect.
Ahhh....but that won't be a net loss of one job
Montgomery County will get to hire a new teacher.
Hayes gets to retire to a life of running the family foundation and living off the interest created by his many millions.

Vote Democratic, the ass you save may be your own.
What do you all think of voters sending worthless R's
packing with actual pink slips. I'm trying to brainstorm a campaign for all the districts where people have lost jobs because of the lack of care shown by the Republican controlled Congress.
Maybe a door hanger that lists as reason for dismissal:
All of the votes that have hurt that district.
The pay raises they have given themselves.
The Lobbyists who have benefited from crooked dealings.
The environmental consequences of poor legislation.
Then tell the voter "You can fire Robin Hayes" Register and vote Larry Kissell Democrat November 4th

I think you're on to something there, LoftT.
I could even see it as a commercial.
You could have a homeowner/voter, etc, talking to the Rep. who would be off camera.
"I'm sorry...this just isn't working out. You have not made the right decisions...." etc. And then at the end, just say, "Robin Hayes, you're fired."
Vote Kissell. Something like that.
Can we, instead, start talking about "for the good of North Carolina?" --Leslie H.

Yes, I started thinking TV too
It would just be such a pleasure to tell the likes of Patrick McHenry, "YOU"RE FIRED!" emphasis Donald Trump.
