Cal Cunningham Shows Big Momentum at SEC Today
Cal and Vancine Studivant, Chair of the Anson County Democratic Party
When Cal Cunningham entered the Democratic Party’s State Executive Committee Meeting at the Durham Convention Center today, the enthusiasm just surged. All along the entrance hall, volunteers cheered, clapped, and pumped their fists as Cal made his way toward the SEC ballroom. The cheers for Cal filled the hall, and I thought to myself, ‘this is really a great event to be a part of.’
The number of volunteers shocked me, but I was even more blown away by the obvious momentum being felt by everyone there. Folks drove in from Asheville and from down East, arriving hours before the meeting, just to volunteer and show their support for Cal. It’s clear that the U.S. Senate race is attracting more and more interest, and the Cunningham campaign is really connecting with that interest, as evidenced by the clear advantage in numbers and enthusiasm of the Cal supporters today.
I can’t wait for the next big event so that more people can participate and see the fight we’re going to bring Richard Burr in North Carolina, like all of us there saw today.
That next big event is Cal’s Campaign Kickoff Rally and BBQ Dinner on March 16th. Check it out at http://www.calfornc.com/news/events?id=0003

Three lesser-known democrats running for U.S. Senate
We here on BlueNC have been concentrating on the "big three" democrats running for U.S. Senate and the right to send "No Show" Burr packing. But, there are three others running as well that do not have their campaigns as organized or as well funded as those we mention most here. They are:
Marcus Williams who does have a website.
Susan Fort and this site explains who she is.
Ann Worthy and her website so far is primarily for sending her support and donations.
Just thought it was worth mentioning here.
I'm Alex Dadok- Thanks for the welcome
Grew up in Durham, North Carolina, where North Carolina public schools got me ready for Yale University. After graduation, lived in Peru for a year and then back to the US to do issue advocacy around regional economic development and environmental issues for a couple years.
Came to help out as a volunteer on the campaign because I want so see us beat Richard Burr and have become more and more convinced that better political leadership is essential to making our country a better place to live. I'm actually crashing as a volunteer in a sleeping bag here in Lexington by night, and by day I'm learning a ton being involved with the campaign. People are really enthusiastic about the campaign all over, like I said, and yesterday really was an exclamation point on that momentum.
Of course the SEC members
Of course the SEC members should remain neutral (in their official capacity)until the primary is over.
I'm a moderate Democrat.
