Caution: Traffic Jams Ahead in Raleigh
Caution: Traffic Jams Ahead
From the leaders of Capital Area Friends of Transit:
Too bad Wake County Commission's majority didn't vote to hold a transit funding referendum this year. We could sure use expanded mass transit now because severe traffic jams are coming! An 11 mile stretch of I-40 and I-440 to the South of Raleigh will have to be repaved due to failing pavement. The project is expected to begin next year and last three years with the interstate being narrowed to two lanes for much of that time.
Read the News and Observer's Road Worrier Article to get all the details and a few tricks on how to avoid the traffic. Expect delays for a very, very long time--years, in fact.
