Body:

An informal, inclusive progressive drinking club. Raise your spirits while you raise your glass, and share ideas while you share a pitcher. Drinking Liberally gives like-minded, left-leaning individuals a place to talk politics. You don't need to be a policy expert and this isn't a book club - just come and learn from peers, trade jokes, vent frustration and hang out in an environment where it's not taboo to talk politics.

Bars are democratic spaces - you talk to strangers, you share booths, you feel the bond of common ground. Bring democratic discourse to your local democratic space - build democracy one drink at a time.

How do you get home?

I sure hope that you guys and gals have designated drivers at these "guzzler gatherings". You should know that alcohol and politics don't mix well. Just ask Sen. Ted. He knows first hand.
I'm speaking as a father. Just be very careful. Repugnants may be hiding in the Bushes with cameras. (They're sneaky bastards.) I know, I used to be one. Conservative Republican; what an oximoron! Ever meet a Repugnant that was into conservation? Nuff said!

Let me flip open my cell phone

and jump down a few numbers, ah, here it is:

Tarheel Taxi 933-1255

I've never had to use it, but as a Dad, I like to have it handy. If not for your kids, then for mine.

Jesus Swept ticked me off. Too short. I loved the characters and then POOF it was over.

If we had good urban planning...

We could all walk or take a train. Given that it is North Carolina, it seems that most people choose to drink less.

Nail on head, Daddy-O

I often wonder what the hell they're thinking when they say "conservative." Conserve what? Power for rich ol' white boys? I honestly cannot think of anything else they try to to conserve. Energy? Nah. The environment? Nope. Economic capital? Nada. Good will and moral integrity? Don't think so.

Come to Carrboro instead

I love that the "Chapel Hill" Drinking Liberally is being held in Carrboro.

Everything in Chapel Hill

should happen in Carrboro!

A

PS I live in Chapel Hill, but I'd move to Carrboro if I could take my house with me.

Carrboro, bah!

Carrboro is soooooooooooo overrated.

I'm going to let that stand ; )
it should generate some traffic.

Yeah, yeah

The location is still fluid, but Tyler's is ideal. But when we signed the chapter up, our only meeting had been at Bailey's.
