Why is it that Republican Governor Mark Sanford and Senator John Ensign get to have lurid affairs without being blackballed from their party, while guys like John Edwards get crucified for similar actions? I guess maybe the GOP is the party of tolerance after all, as long as what you're tolerating is adultery and lying.

From what I am getting from a ton of sources, the SC repubs would just LOVE to see Sanford go into that "Blue at Night" you are talking about. Talk about a thorn in their side !!!! This guy, by just about everyone's perspective, is a jerk and a loser and deserves to be hung up by his nads. If I was a republican attending an event and this numbnuts showed up, I would have to just cringe at his presence. To me, the longer he stays in office and in the news, the better for dems, especially in South Carolina.

Not really! The Sanford Sin rumor team has put out a story that the Lt Gov is a Closet Frat Gay Boy. The Frat Lt Gov is running for Gov and has said if Sanford steps down, he won't run....Which is a riot since the State GOP leaders don't want the Lt Gov period since he is just dumb rich frat kid who won his Lt Gov election by a fluke.
Observing the South Carolina GOP in action is like watching a Marx brothers movie.......

I think you know, but I'll go ahead anyway.
First, he REALLY pushed this squeaky-clean family man image which turned out to be a lie.
Second, even his supporters are pissed at him knowing now that had he won the nomination the story would have come out and ruined the chance of Dems taking the Presidency.
Third, there's the little thing about his wife having cancer.
The damage he could have done to the Democratic party would have been staggering if he had been their candidate. THAT is why he is "blackballed" from their party.

Mayor Pat McCrory was on Morning Joe
today, talking about how only a small percentage of stimulus funds could be used because they were for shovel ready projects only and how he was more interested in funding light rail or high speed rail, I forget. Anyway, it was said mainly to be critical of Obama.

I have no sympathy for this bloodsucking devil. Look around in NC, you'll find others like him. Might even see a dead bank walking, or falling, before Halloween.
