Civitas: Before and Laughter

Photobucket

This is how Civitas promoted its so-called leadership conference last month, promising the likes of Sarah Bailin', Haley Barbour, Mick Huckabee, Mitt Romney, a star-studded cast if every there was one.

But a funny thing happened on the way to reality. None of the national luminaries could be bothered to show up for the Big Event in Raleigh this weekend. Instead, the Civitasers ended up with an embarrassing roster of also-rans, including Grover Nordquist and Miss California, a woman who had her breasts surgically recrafted so she could win a beauty contest for god and the sanctity of marriage.

I feel bad for the Tasers, I really do. Not because all their famous guest declined their invitations, but because the organization felt the need to misrepresent the truth about their conference in the first place. But I guess that's what they do for a living, so we shouldn't be surprised.

I know that you don't care....

James,

I would recommend removal of your post calling John Fund a pedophile. You might be attempting humor but it reads like libel to me. The facts of the referenced case do not in any way support the charge of pedophilia. Sleazy maybe, or Clintonesque, or Edwardsesque.

BTW, Ms. Prejean did not get her money's worth!!

Thanks

My apologies to Mr. Fund. To my knowledge he is not a pedophile and I shouldn't have implied that.

I'm always willing to fix things that need fixing. This is one of them.

PS

How do you know that I don't care?

John Fund = hypocrite

Well enjoy this then:

...learned that not only had Fund been sleeping with Morgan, he was the father of the child she would abort.

Not only had Fund violated his twenty-year-old friendship with Melinda Pillsbury-Foster, he, much like Congressman Gary Condit (Fund recently wrote a scathing indictment of Condit's behavior), insisted that Morgan keep their three-year-affair secret.

Morgan was 23 years old the first time the then-43-year-old Fund took her to bed. Sounds all too familiar, doesn't it?

Double thanks

Those facts are damning enough ... thanks for reposting that link. I'm just trying to err on the side of not stirring up whatever legal problems these kinds of sleazoids might want to cook up.
