Monday Night Live With Jay Ovittore
One thing I love about North Carolina politics this year is the groundswell of committed candidates e stepping up to take on entrenched do-nothing Republicans. One of those candidates is Jay Ovittore, who is challenging Howard Coble in the 6th Congressional District.
None of us were around way back when the foundation of democracy in North America was being built, but from where I stand, the idea of real honest people with real honest jobs representing us in Congress is about as good as it gets. Jay brings that idea to life. Check out his website and get familiar with his positions ... and then plan to be here Monday night at 8 for a good conversation with our good friend, Jay Ovittore.

PS And if you're looking for a good thing to do with a little of your hard-earned cash, I'm sure Jay would appreciate your contribution.

Thanks, Jay!
And thanks for letting me know I spelled your name wrong
Duh. I'm flying too fast these days. Sorry.
All fixed.
Jay is a force
If anyone with body piercings, a soul patch and a New Joisey accent can get elected in the south, it's Jay. Can't wait to see all the great things he will accomplish.
News of the 10th district: See Pat Go Bye Bye,
Not to sound negative to Jay...
but, the WORST thing that can happen is that in his pounding the bushes, doing meetings, doing debates (maybe), going to conventions - he ups the number of democrats who come out and vote. Now, my grandparents live in this district and I have a hard time seeing them voting for Jay, but they vote every election already. What we need is to mobilize those Democrats who haven't had a reason to get out and vote.
Jay needs to be that guy. Best of luck to him.

Jesus Swept ticked me off. Too short. I loved the characters and then POOF it was over.

Your job, dear Robert
Is to get your grandparents to do what seems impossible right now. People asking other people to do things is what works, in my experience.
I once had a close friend ask why he should vote for the candidate I was promoting. I knew logic wouldn't prevail. My response was this: "Because I'm asking you to."
He did.
Yeah, I'll be selling all four grandparents at Christmas
They all live in this district and are all strong Democrats. That is one reason I am looking forward to this chat on Monday, to get some background.

You've nailed it.
Jay has to reach the independents and the Dems who think that Coble isn't that bad because of his "constituent services".
I think he's got a good chance because of his relationship with the Young Dems and because of his own energy and youth. I think he's got an uphill climb because of the conservative nature of the Democratic party in the 6th district - but he's got a better shot than anyone has had in a long time.
Be the change you wish to see in the world. --Gandhi
