BlueNC Women on Wednesdays (WoW) Open Thread

I had so many story ideas running through my head to introduce today's writers. I've had a sneak preview at four of the articles and they speak for themselves. There is nothing I need to add. I will have a post for tonight. You can use this open thread while you wait for our first post at 10:00am.

Thought you might enjoy these:

Do you think this woman was heckled or jeered? Of course, why do you think there was a crowd of men around her? Do you think they were the welcoming committee?

In this petty little place deep in my heart I'm hoping their dinners were cold when they got home to them.

It is a good day to blog. We need a distraction from watching our 401k's. Days like these are a fairly jolting reminder of why tying your old age insurance to the stock market is a bad bad BAD bet.

"They took all the trees and put them in a tree museum Then they charged the people a dollar 'n a half just to see 'em. Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone? They paved paradise and put up a parking lot."

I ran out of coffee this morning.

I hate it when that happens. Thankfully, I snagged a cup at work, but it's still too hot to drink.

I'm on my second cup and it's cold

I think I'll nuke it. I have coffee - but I'm out of cream. (ugh)

Mom was upset she lost money on paper last night

I told her not to watch today. I read at Kos the Nikkei was down - way down.

Remember - now is not the time to sell. :) No sense turning those paper losses into real losses.

Who will put the stars up?

Last Thursday night was mild and the sky was clear so I took my daughter, almost 3yrs old, outside to see the stars and the fingernail moon. As always she was excited to see them, pointing and talking to the "finger moon" and gazing at "all the stars".

She noticed a dark area of the sky to the north and asked me "Who will put the stars up?". Caught by surprise I hesitated and responded, "God will."

She thought about that for a second and asked me, "Does she have a ladder?"

Ahhh...the wisdom of little girls

Cute story.

You are a good daddy Greg

what a smart little girl!

No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots.

Progressive Discussions

Ooohhh!

That is the most wonderful sweetness I've felt this week. Out of the mouths of babes, indeed.

Thank you for sharing, greg. ;)

Thanks for doing this.

And thanks for helping me keep my Puppet Martinez rant off the front page. :)

Greg, that's a very sweet story. God needs all the ladders she can get these days.

Told you Charlotte roads

stink.
