DFA Nightschool - Spring Semester
Cross-posted at the Brock Log.
Democracy for America's Night School is a very cool service provided free-of-charge to anyone that wants to register.
DFA Night School will teach you strategies you can use to take back your city, your state, your country.
The only requirements are a telephone (to hear the audio) and PC (to view the presentation).
There are a few events coming up soon.
- Holding Elected Leaders Accountable (Mar 6)
- You'll learn the skills for citizen lobbying and the tactics to make sure you're effective.
- Building Progressive Coalitions (Mar 14)
- In this session, we will discuss strategies to build progressive coalitions in order to gain influence with elected officials.
- Anyone Can Run (Mar 20)
- In this session we will be joined by DFA endorsed and newly elected state representatives Elesha Gayman from Iowa, and Maria Chappelle-Nadal from Missouri to tell their stories about running for local office.
I've already RSVP'ed for myself and I recommend the seminars if you're trying to build (or in many cases rebuild) and maintain your local Democratic Party or precinct.
I'll write-up summaries after each seminar.
Speaking of Democracy for America...
The DFA Training Academy is having an in-person seminar in Columbia, SC on March 17th and 18th.
At the DFA Training Academy, experienced campaign professionals will cover practical strategies and tactics in everything from communications, fundraising and voter targeting to online organizing and building sustainable grassroots movements. We build the program so you can go out and actually use the skills you learn right away. Then, we follow up with you to make sure you have the support you need to organize your community.
I'm RSVP'ed for that, too, and will provide extensive write-ups when I return.
I'm discovering that there are more and more events and opportunities for gettin' smart on political organizations available if you just look a little.

I got this last night too Thomas
I was going to link to it in my article but forgot. Thanks for brining it here, I'll refer, these are both valuable and free! (although any donations are appreciated)
No matter that patriotism is too often the refuge of scoundrels. Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots.
Progressive Discussions
Thanks, Thomas
I'm going to do my best to participate, but will appreciate your coverage if unable to attend.
Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.
