Discussion Thread for NCDP Chair Conference Calls

Please treat this as an open thread to pose questions that may be used on the conference call, and to discuss today and tomorrow's calls with the candidates for NCDP Chair as they happen. We are primarily focused on questions from young people or questions about how Young Democrats will be involved with the North Carolina Democratic Party over the next two years, but we will take questions from all-comers. Candidates have been invited to live-blog on BlueNC after the calls.

Thank you for participating in the future of our state Democratic Party!

Questions:

Mr.Hyde- What is the best use of grassroots organization within the party and do you think that we've proven that fundraising is certainly possible in this manner? How would you best utilize technology to bring the party forward in NC?

Mr.Young- How do you reconcile your stance on organized labor with our party platform, and what is your stance on Verified Voter Paper Ballots?

Ms. Montgomery- What is your stance on a woman's right to choose? What do you think the party can do to forward the cause of improving our schools and electing school boards with the right priorities?

To all of you.........

If selected as NCDP chair what will you do to encourage and support political newcomers to primary our DINO representatives like Mike McIntyre...for example?

Stan Bozarth

DINO???

Wait a minute...I thought demos were "all inclusive".

What's this all about????

The best thinking is independent thinking.

Permanent Staff

The permanent staff of the party are essential to the future of the NCDP. How do you envision your role as chair in the day to day operations of the permanent staff? And, what changes would you make to the staff set up now to expand our ability to win elections?

"Keep the Faith"

What is so hard about hitting mute?

Good grief.

Did I misunderstand?

I thought the floor was open for questions. If not, I apologize for butting in.

When you said you'd met with "them" yesterday when first asked about organized labor....to whom were you referring?

We had over 60 people on the Monday call, and quite a few on the call tonight (I don't have the number yet). Thanks to everybody who participated, and I'll get the link up with the questionnaire responses ASAP.
