Jim Neal is behind a canvassing event scheduled for this Saturday in Oxford, NC. Here are the details I've got so far:

Adam Sotak is the head honcho for this event, and he has lists of neighborhoods and addresses for us to target. His contact info is: adamsotak@democracy-nc.org & (704) 277-8340.

If you want to shoot him a message or give him a call... I remember someone from the meeting last week where we came up with this idea mentioning a church or other meeting facility we might be able to use as a base when we get up to Oxford, but I don't know for sure where is the best meet up point for people already in Oxford. But if you contact Adam and let him know I pointed you his way, he'll have all the info about the event.

Please also note that Tuesday June 14th at 7:00pm in Oxford there will be a "Community Meeting about Education Cuts" with state legislators from Granville, Vance, Person & Durham Counties at the First Baptist Church, 320 Granville Street, Oxford. Sponsored by the Granville County Ministerial Alliance, NC NAACP, NCAE and the People's Alliance.

The canvas event in Oxford has been cancelled. The GA-critter who was going to vote with the repubs wound up voting the right way after all. Sometimes all it takes is a little "word up" to inspire them.
