Come on, James, you can do better than this...

That THOMAS search is not in chronological order. If you keep scrolling down, you will find some actual substantive bills (and a whole lot of tariff and duty relief acts) that Burr sponsored. I'm not saying any of his bills were worth the parchment they were scratched on. But I am saying that, despite the fact that THOMAS via his website spat this list out, it's an inaccurate portrayal.

Let's criticize Burr based on the legislation he HAS put forth, the interests who HAVE given him money to push such bad bills. There is certainly plenty there to use against him without having to resort to a somewhat misleading argument.

Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent. ~~ Salvor Hardin

I don't know why Thomas listed his "contributions"

in this particular order ... but it struck me as an ironic display of his do-nothing record.

The only legislation I find of even passing relevance is a bill he sponsored with Diane Feinstein on residency for military spouses. Beyond that, I see nothing ... do you?

Senator Fluff

I was wondering why he left out the sweet potato, then I remembered that was one of Liddy's major accomplishments.

And if you're gonna do fluff, at least get it right. I was assigned to the U.S. Army 1st SOCOM over 25 years ago, so unless it went through some kind of "rebirth" process, that anniversary is off by a few years.

Senator Fluff?

Did someone mention Larry Craig?

Or Mitch McConnell?

Or Lindsey Graham?

or....

pencil sharpeners

This one is my favorite: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:s2669:

S.2669 -- To extend temporarily the suspension of duty on electrically operated pencil sharpeners.

Truly no one can accuse Sen. Burr of not keeping his eye on the ball... If North Carolina's future isn't based up foreign manufactured electrically operated pencil sharpeners then what, pray tell me, is NC banking upon?

#10 on the list bothers me the most

Go Heels!
