Eastern North Carolina First

Placing the needs of Eastern North Carolina First must be the priority of our congressman. As the problems of the nation are addressed it is vital that the people have a representative who is in tune with their needs. Eastern North Carolina should be must have a representative that is focused on the problems of the region rather than personal political agendas. We must act now to secure the proud legacy of Eastern North Carolina.

Eastern North Carolina,
First in Regional Development

As your congressman Johnny Rouse will serve as a strong and principled proponent of economic development in Eastern North Carolina. This region has the opportunity to be on the forefront of Green Energy, Agricultural advances, Tourism, and Health care. East Carolina University and Elizabeth City State University provide a powerful resource for new businesses and research. Currently, 14.8% of college graduates between the ages of 24 to 35 are unemployed; this is a national resource we cannot afford to waste. These young people are the next generation of thinkers, business owners, and leaders and we must find ways to support new businesses and innovations that can put Eastern North Carolina to work.

Eastern North Carolina,
First in Business and Ecology

Eastern North Carolina is an Environmental Treasure. The landscape is unique and beautiful, the barrier islands, Pamlico and Albemarle Sounds and the Crystal Coast make an amazing place to live. However, we must protect these natural resources while developing our economy. We must find a balance of economic growth and ecology through open discussion and planning with business owners and environmental groups. In Congress Johnny Rouse will seek to create a forum for discussion as well as viable incentives to encourage development that will have minimal ecological impact.

Eastern North Carolina,
First in Education

Education must be a priority for Eastern North Carolina and the country. No Child Left Behind has failed the nations children and our schools are lagging behind much of the world. The recent recession has outlined the growing gaps in education and the need to prepare students to a quickly changing economy. We must make education a cultural priority as well as a financial one. We must prepare educators for the modern classroom, and increase pay in order to attract talented thinkers and achievers. Making Eastern North Carolina, First in Education will be a chief priority for Johnny Rouse in Congress.

Our present national crisis cannot be allowed diminish our spirit of patriotism. We must invest in our future and renew American Innovation. We must try something new. Vote Johnny Rouse for Congress.

Thanks for telling us about Mr. Rouse

I wonder if you might be able to arrange a live-blog for Johnny here at BlueNC. I've read his website from top to bottom and have a ton of questions.

Some immediate ones that come to mind:

1. No mention of health reform ... what is the candidate's position on where things stand in Congress right now.

2. Don't ask don't tell: In favor of ending that policy or in favor of keeping it?

3. No mention of being a Democrat. Why's that?

4. No mention of economic stimulus spending. Where does Mr. Rouse stand on that?

I could go on, but you get my drift. Would love to get some straight answers. Few people would expect someone running in the 3rd to be a flaming liberal, but it would at least be helpful to get some more specific answers to some of the tough questions we're facing.

You can reach me through BlueNC ... or at james at jamesprotzman dot com.

Thanks!

Thin but glossy web site...

and I'm not sure what a "profound" vision is. Deeply held convictions or swirling lights? Candidly, and no offense, the web site reads like a lot of cobbled-together boiler plate and random statements without adequate substance or detail.
