 <p>   The Charlotte School of Law\, John S. Leary Bar Association\, and Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation are sponsoring a seminar entitled “Mental Illness &amp\; the Death Penalty\: Seeking a ‘Reasoned Moral Response’ to an  Unavoidable Condition” on Friday\, October 20.  Renowned capital defense attorney <strong><a href=\\"http\://www.eji.org/\\">Bryan Stevenson</a></strong> of Alabama will be the keynote speaker.  Former <strong>N.C. Chief Justice Burley Mitchell</strong> will also be speaking.  Panels will explore the ways in which the criminal justice system misunderstands mental illness and harms our most vulnerable citizens.</p>
