The style of an 84 IQ, 17 year-old 8th Grader, that is:

And we're the ones who are supposed to be idiots? You'd have been better off setting that $20,000 aside for future psychotherapy sessions for the wife & kid...

He's right, you know. You really should ignore us. Because it's going to be hard enough to look at yourself in the mirror as it is, without idiots like us reminding you of what you already know to be true.
Who these people are?
These people are average citizens who don't have the luxury of Papa Pope paying them to be political puppets. And by the way, the idiot bloggers who went after Tommy's gayness were his own Republican enemies in the Show, pure and simple. All we did was hop on the bandwagon.
PS Does anyone besides me think it's bizarre for a grown man to spend $20K to quash rumors about his sexuality? Methinks someone doest protest WAY too much.

Now, I know "a lot of money" is a relative term, but even if I was uber-rich, I wouldn't take $20,000-worth of legal action over a personal attack like that.
That rumor sprouted wings and flew like an eagle as a result. And then he mentions it at this goodbye thing. ;) Dumbass.
