Foxx campaign in Charlotte: We need your help
Hi, I'm a volunteer for the Anthony Foxx for Mayor campaign in Charlotte, and I wanted to give everybody some information about our campaign sites, how to contribute and what's been going on since the GOP primary last week.
For those of you in the Charlotte area, you probably already know most or all of this; I pre-emptively apologize. For those who don't: Charlotte, the Carolinas' biggest city and the nation's 19th-biggest, is about to elect its first new mayor since 1995. Following his unsuccessful bid for governor last year, Republican seven-term Mayor Pat McCrory has decided not to run again, and two candidates have emerged from the City Council -- Democrat Anthony Foxx and Republican John Lassiter. Charlotte -- an up-and-coming, increasingly progressive city in a state just went blue last year, a city with a 7-4 Democratic majority on its council -- hasn't had a Democratic mayor since Harvey Gantt from 1983-87.
Anthony Foxx has been a strong advocate for neighborhoods and families since his election to the council in 2005. He's led efforts to invest in such critical needs as police officers and road improvements, and he's worked closely with businesspeople to make sure they have a chance to flourish in Charlotte.
We need your help in the coming weeks; Lassiter's campaign already is pulling some shenanigans to try to win an edge in a close race.
Explore Anthony's campaign site here.
Contribute to the campaign here.
Follow our campaign blog, which has links to Anthony's Facebook, Youtube and Twitter pages, here.
Please pass this on to other folks, in North Carolina or other states, who want to see a Democrat back in the Charlotte mayor's office in 2009. And please do everything you can to get behind Anthony in the weeks until the Nov. 3 general election. Thanks!

Come on, Charlotte!
Do yourselves and North Carolina a favor ... elect Mr. Foxx!
Do good. Be nice. Have fun.
Good to see Anthony has a growing web presence
Charlotte certainly doesn't need a Pat McCrory clone.
