considering the announcements of Brad and Bev. But I have a feeling issue advocacy will be more important than ever this year, and I refuse to let campaign politics keep us from learning the stuff we need to learn.

I dated a girl once who kept her (caged) canary in her bathroom. I tried to explain to her about coal miners keeping canaries because they would keel over from methane poisoning long before the levels got explosively dangerous, but she got mad as hell at me, I think because I "implied" that she herself was a methane producer.
But she did move the poor canary out of there, and I swear that bird loved me to death after that.
I contemplated skipping this week's installment,
