The Fundamentals
Back when I was a kid I loved baseball. More than anything I wanted to be a baseball player. But I sucked at it. Mainly because, and I will admit it, I was scared of the ball. I gave up my dream because I was afraid of getting beaned.
My fear is that the Democratic party is following the path I chose. Only instead of just affecting one person, their fear will affect millions and millions. They have decided to avoid getting beaned themselves, 10 million poor people can handle a fastball to the noggin.
I will not let this slide. It is time for true progressives to call bullshit, loudly.
First, as I have said before, the country does not need spending cuts. We. Need. Jobs.
Second, tax cuts for the wealthy DOES NOT create jobs.
Third, cutting government spending DOES NOT create jobs.
Fourth, Republicans DO NOT care about deficits.
For some reason that is totally lost on me the Democrats have bought into the, well, sorry to say it again, bullshit.
Let's take a short walk down memory lane. There was a guy. Can't remember his name. But he left office with close to full employment and a budget surplus.
Then there was this other guy. He said that a budget surplus was dangerous. We needed tax cuts. A lot of them. And fast.
Now, we have 9% unemployment and a huge deficit. So what do we need? More tax cuts. A lot of them. And fast. Oh, and let's rape the poor and middle class. We don't really need to, but just for fun.
I have rambled a bit here so let me clarify my point: The Republicans want to cut spending on poor people to give rich people tax breaks. Let me say it again: The Republicans want to cut spending on poor people to give rich people tax breaks.
It really is that simple. I know it. You know it. Every (okay almost every) elected Democrat in the country knows it. But we can't say it, can we? Because we are scared of the ball.

Local job cuts hit Cleveland County Schools...again
Is your local board of education making another round of job cuts like this?
As he said above:
He's so right:
Be sure to thank your local legislator. Cleveland County, all of your legislators are GOPers.
