Grab your pot and let's make some noise!

Since so many of our lawmakers in Raleigh have made it plain they aren't listening to the people of North Carolina, it's time to get their attention another way. Please join the AFL-CIO, Progress NC and other allies at the General Assembly on May 16 -- the opening day of this year's legislative session -- for a rally that lawmakers can't ignore. Bring your own pot and utensil of choice and be prepared to make some noise. Details after the jump...

Think of it as a way to kick off the legislative session with a literal bang. Think of it as a time to cut loose a little and revisit your childhood (admit it, drumming on pots and pans is fun!). Think of it as your chance to drown out the lobbyists descending on our General Assembly to push their agendas. Most of all, think of it as a statement to lawmakers that the people of North Carolina will be heard in 2012.

Here are the details:

Wednesday, May 16 at 10 A.M.
Bicentennial Mall (across from the Legislature)
16 W. Jones St., Raleigh, NC

We hope to see you there! If you plan to attend, please post below so we can get a rough body count. Thanks!

Am I the only person

that misinterpreted this headline?

No, I thought that too.

I am sorry I won't be able to make it the noise making party though.

Progressives are the true conservatives.

You can't say....

... that headline wasn't an attention getter!

First... get their attention!

Lots and lots of groups are diving into this protest and we've had a huge number of shares on Facebook, so we are hoping the zeitgeist is coming together for a good crowd and a lot of noise. Join us if you can!
