Not a surprise
Not a surprise that his forces lead to this amendment.
It's unfortunate though, most libertarians I've met are against the government getting even more into marriage regulation with DOMA at the national level, or with constitutional amendments like this at the state level. There were plenty of Ron Paul shirt wearing people protesting the marriage amendment at the big rally in Raleigh a few months back.
