Health scare plan

In Raleigh, North Carolina, this past week, members of the Alliance for Retired Americans picketed the state Republican headquarters, asking the party to stop using what they call scare tactics to turn senior citizens against health care reform. It could be the start of a voter backlash against what some say is a misinformation campaign about health care reform. From North Carolina Public Radio, Laura Leslie reports

scare tactics
Look at the add at the bottom of your page. That is a scare tactic. Americans losing their health insurance 15,000 a day. What a crock. Americans are losing it because they do not want to pay it. They drive their fancy cars and live in their big houses, but when it comes to health insurance they want the American people to pay the bill. So much for personal responsibilty in America. Drive those prius over 55 and they get worse fuel mileage, slow them down if you are so green you over pay for an auto.

My questions to you, krush
I understand what you are saying and do not believe that health care in the U.S. right now is frugile and the best it can be? Do you think that there are people in America that should get health care that just simply cannot and have to go to the ER to get that? Do you believe that it would be far more efficient and far more prudent economically if we have an avenue for those that don't have health care accss to have an option in that regard? Yes, I do know that this bill does give "credits" to those that don't have the ability to pay which will cost taxpayers, but your excellent presentation shows that there are just so many people that DON'T fall into that category and should be paying for their health insurance. Those folks you talk about are costing us billions when it is unnecessary and they are taking advantage of the "system" which would end if this is put into effect. This bill, and I know it hasn't been widely presented, MAKES the people that can afford at least a small stipend for their health insurance to do so. If that happens, you won't have to pay for their lack of personal responsibility as a taxpayer. I know what is being said on the negative side, but don't always believe what the opposition says.
