How to Get Health Care Reform Done Quickly

Until people understand the full, true and real cost of health insurance, it is going to be very difficult to get the political will ginned up in the voting population to demand change from our elected leaders.
This might be one way to do it.

I know my father in law would just hold off getting sick until some other week than the one you want him to pay for.
Just kidding. It's an interesting thought experiment, but until someone turns it into a law, it won't happen. And what are the odd of that?
I'm starting to look at reform as a badly needed catalyst. For example, real-time claims processing (even if R's roll back mandates) is going to happen. Reform broke the log jam that kept the self interest of plans ahead of cost reduction and administrative simplification. It's a done deal no matter who controls Congress ... and it's a done deal because it got mandated by law. That was a good thing.

hope you are right on the 'real-time processing...
can't quite figure out how in the 21st century we are still not aggregating all health care information on a single card or disk that can follow a patient around the nation or as they shop for better diagnoses.
Seniors get stuff done....44 million strong does that to a democracy, even a republican form of one....
