How visible is the Dalton campaign?

Comments

A few notes:

Sometimes the wording of these polls can be confusing, especially on a Monday (4 cups of coffee, and I'm still having trouble with basic reasoning skills). You may be able to ascertain from the wording in selection #1 that I'm looking for paid television exposure, as opposed to the free exposure a la televised debate or news reporting. You should be able to fix your vote if necessary.

This poll is in response to some troubling issues brought up in this diary, such as: It appears that Dalton yard signs are not being purchased/disseminated by the campaign, at least not in the same volume/fashion that other previous state-level campaigns have done so in the past. Granted, five dollars isn't a budget-breaker for even the most modest supporter. But (as far as I'm concerned) that's not the point. Distributing yard signs is just one of those things you have to do, if you want to win, that is.

I've seen ads and signs

Ads in Triangle media.

Yards signs and bumper stickers in Triangle and western foothills.

In my mid/late summer travels around the state, I absolutely saw more GOP signs than Democratic, particularly for local judicial races.

I question the value of yard signs in top ticket races. If name recognition is an issue at the top of the ticket, yard signs aren't the way to go.

Also, I haven't seen near the number of Obama or Romney yard signs as I saw McCain or Obama in 2008.

I hope you're right

about the yard signs. It's just when I saw this Tweet:

tcot
RobLockwood 12:26pm via TweetDeck i$$ue$? MT @ByJohnFrank: @WalterDalton pulls his TV ads from CLT for this week and next: bit.ly/Q8r7DQ #ncpol #ncgov

Combined with the other diary, it made me start worrying about the Dalton campaign's bank balance...

TV ads are the best spent

TV ads are the best spent money for a candidate. Our local Democratic candidates have 10 times less money to spend than their sell out counterparts. In our local NC house race Mike Hager has $60,000 in his war chest compared to Mark Brown that might have $6000. It would not be a stretch to say that 98% of Hager's money has come from PACs and outside interests. I'd assume Walter Dalton is in the same boat.

Even the signs I ordered online are a no show

I got the rest of an order placed a couple weeks ago, but the Dalton signs were not included. Hopefully this is some new application of stealth technology with the political version of an F-117 about to lay waste to the McCrory campaign. Or not.

Subliminal signs

We may actually be seeing them all over the place, they just register on a different level of consciousness. :)
