I went to Nashville and all I got was a spine.

I should not be surprised at the lackluster and scampering dances of the Democrats that avoided taking a position on anything substantial during this past Sunday's morning political talk shows. Poof and fluffery was all I heard, especially from the overly-distilled ex-firebrand Ted Kennedy. For example during his interview with George Stephanopoulos, Kennedy said in response to the lack of support for the immigration bill, "There are groups that are opposed to this." Ya think? Way to tell him Ted! Glad to see so MUCH fight left in you!
As I scan the tube and the web, the only person, and I do mean ONLY one standing up for the America I once knew is Al Gore.
Will he or won't he? Who knows. But I do know the Democratic Party's answer to the question of bringing the troops home. "Ain't gonna happen."

Spine and broad brushes
I think you're painting with too broad a brush. I see plenty of evidence that there are good Dems with strong spines who are committed to action. here just aren't enough of them. With Blue Dogs like Heath lining up with Republicans as often as not, the numbers aren't there.
And for all Al Gore's potential, he doesn't appear to be running.
That's just it.
The Dems that are fiighting seem to be marginalized byt those who don't want to offend Bush.
We are overfed on Kennedy and barely see Webb.
Gore? No clue if he will run or not. But I am not seeing any other candidate being able to ding Clinton.
Her numbers are amazing.

When You Consider the Source -
Her numbers could be lies.
Could be.
Or it could be the undecideds have started to make up their mind about her... or maybe they made up their minds about Edwards and Obama.
Hope not. The longer this goes, the more I want to have Edward's love child!
