If you want it, you are going to have to force them to slam it through
Do you want healthcare reform that really matters for your family, yourself, your friends and your fellow American citizens? If so, you are going to have to force the Democratic majority in Congress to make it so. The opposition group, commonly referred to Republicans are going to lie, obsfucate and lie some more regarding what real reform includes. They are doing a great job so far.
Today, the President in his Saturday address to the nation once again laid out the fact that the opposition is lying, in so many words. The opposition then said NO! Like always. The President is lying! Straight up.
From CNN:

Facing a recent erosion of public support for health-care overhaul, President Obama lashed out at his opponents Saturday for spreading "outrageous myths" on the Internet, television, and at town hall forums.
Republican leaders, in turn, said it was Obama who is guilty of playing "fast and loose with the facts."
They repeated their assertion that the president's proposed government-funded public health insurance option would destroy the current private insurance-based system.
"I'm glad that so many are engaged," Obama said in his weekly radio address. But it should "be an honest debate, not one dominated by willful misrepresentations and outright distortions, spread by the very folks who would benefit the most by keeping things exactly as they are."

The Republican side of the issue?
Republican Rep. Tom Price of Georgia had a different take.
"The plan being promoted by the White House would give Washington the power to make highly personal medical decisions on behalf of patients -- on behalf of you," Price, a former physician, said in the weekly GOP address.
Another day, the same lies from the Right.
If YOU want healthcare reform that really matters for your family, yourself, your friends and your fellow American citizens, start or continue to call, write and show up at your Rep's offices and let them know that we will not take NO for an answer. The Democrats will have to slam this through, as no Republicans, including Olympia Snowe are on board.
Only you can make them do it. Only you can talk to friends and family and ask them to do the same.
How much do you want it?

I want it.
For all of us. In the US.
North Carolina. Turning the South Blue!
I support Health Care Reform with a Public Health Plan
I totally agree with you, funluvn. The party of "no" will not agree with any Health Care Reform period unless it just maintains the status quo and gives more money to the insurance companies. If it comes down to it, then Democrats will have to force the vote and approve it without Republican support. We really could never have expected Republicans to do anything other than what they are doing since they have been against all Public Health Programs for years and have done everything that they can to reduce funding and privatize those programs. They were pushing for privatizing Medicaid, claiming that privatizing Medicaire was such a success, shortly before we elected President Obama. At that time, there was even some discussion of "death panels" for the chronically ill until the Democrats threw a fit and made them back off. There was a story I heard the other day on NPR, the ex-employee from Cigna that has now joined the fight for Health Care Reform said that insurance companies began strategizing and donating money to Republicans two years ago when they found out that President Obama was going to run for the Presidency and champion Health Care Reform. If only more people would realize that this is a fight we can and will win but we need every Democrats full support and engagement in this fight to combat the millions of dollars that have been paid by the insurance industry to create right winged groups, fund Republican officials, and send bus loads of "grassroots ordinary citizens" all over the country.
