It’s Memorial Day, have a hot dog.

Today, Bush will place a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers and sadly, I find it laughable.

Bush has not gone to a single funeral for a soldier who has died in his War on Terror but Bush does find time to go to a soldier’s grave that he HASN’T had a hand in killing.

It is my belief that the average American spends more time worrying about the soldiers than the President does. Bush only worries about it when he is in front of a camera.

The thing Bush does spend a lot of time worrying about is if he can get oil to $100 a barrel. His time is running out.

Two Way to Look At This

I personally would have problems if the president - any president - attended a funeral for a fallen soldier that he didn't know. No matter the goodness of the intent, it would be seen as something else. The families of the fallen do not need the disruption that any president's visit would cause.

Also, on Memorial Day, 1958, the name was changed to "Tomb of the Unknowns."

"Here Rests
In Honored Glory
An American Soldier
Known But To God"

Let's remember the fallen unkowns and the knowns on this Memorial Day.

If it were me...

... I would have felt responsible for the deaths of soldiers following my orders. I think there are ways to do it without disruptions and the family would need to agree. I would hold the press at bay, maybe just attend the burials at Arlington maybe.

Anyway, my point is I would want to see the impact of what I had done, for good or for bad.

But that is just me - I feel it would be a necessary cross for me to bear as President. The only cross Bush is toting is for Halliburton.

What bothers me

is not that he hasn't attended a funeral; I agree it would be disruptive and inappropriate.

What bothers me is that the press is not permitted to show the coffins of deceased coming home. What bothers me is that the Coward in Chief has photo op after photo op in front of whole, healthy members of the military, while more than 3,000 have died, and thousands more have been injured, many of them disabled for life in his misbegotten war - and we are rarely, if ever, shown that in the corporate media.

The press is an integral part of our democracy, and they have let us down. They have been bought and paid for as surely as many of our politicians have been. We are paying for it with our ignorance, but our troops are paying with their lives.

It's your democracy; use it.

Look at my video

That has changed as of a bit earlier this year. The DoD first blacked out the faces of other servicemen and women in the pictures, but they no longer do that.

I don't know about commercial media, but DoD pictures are now available.

Robin Hayes lied. Nobody died, but thousands of folks lost their jobs.
