Your aversion to "political correctness" is very telling, and a direct reflection of your character.
These often unwritten guidelines of what is correct and incorrect behavior aren't drawn up in a boardroom somewhere, they are a product of a society that holds compassion and empathy for all of its members, not just a select subset. It's a shared value system, and a politician can only go so far in his (or her) attempts to divide us before we slam the door on that patently un-American approach.
Those who speak with disdain for "political correctness" are usually those who know the vast majority of the voting public would not agree with them or approve of them, if that politician ever decided to speak his or her mind.
So he lies, and says nice things he really doesn't believe, and people vote for him. And other people make him the Speaker of The House, so he can lie for them, too.
I don't often ask folks to share
but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if a few million people saw this picture and followed the link to Mr. Law'n Order's website.
Tweet and FB early and often. Pretty please?
Do good. Be nice. Have fun.
I've got a few words for Thom

Beautifully said
and especially poignant given the fact that Tillis has just pissed all over his own website.

Oh, this one is rich:
I'm pretty sure there were special sessions in July, September, November and December.
New addition to the NC GOP dictionary: "Ended" is now synonymous with "Continued".
