Poor Erik Prince. The mean old Iraqis are refusing to give Blackwater a license to operate a mercenary army in their country.
“They presented their request, and we rejected it,” said Ala’a Al-Taia, an official with Iraq’s Interior Ministry. “There is no longer the necessity to renew their contract because our security forces can handle their mission. There are many marks against this company, specifically that they have a bad history and have been involved in the killing of so many civilians.”
Too bad our own government doesn't have the same clarity of judgment.

Just saw this and rushed over to share the news
Should have known that you were on top of it James. Now if that karma would just kick in for the rest of the Repubs and those Dem enablers too!
I figured this was about Jesus Swept
Glad I clicked through to find out that such a bad thing couldn't have happened to a worse company.
Jesus Swept ticked me off. Too short. I loved the characters and then POOF it was over.

Now, can we get these esso bees
out of our state? I hear there's a pig-farm in Crawford, Texas whose village has had its resident idiot returned to them. Perhaps they'd find a nice home there. Just blue-skyin' here...

A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history.

This goes a long ways
to showing that Iraqi's are ready to take over their own country. The training and joint operations from the real military are helping make this happen.
This is a huge step for the Iraqi people. They said with confidence that they can protect the various people blackwater protected. Blackwater is not needed in THEIR country. Right on! They are taking ownership of their country. That is power! That is a great sign. This indicates to me that our mission in Iraq has been worthwhile and is nearing an end.
Wish Hillary would take the Iraqi offer and let the Iraqi security system take control of what blackwater is watching. Would be simple to do a one for one swap. This could be done in a very short time. Identify where blackwater is, count blackwater noises and have that many Iraqi security force noises show up tomorrow or next week, get a turn over, and properly relieve the watch! I love when people take control in a positive way their own destiny!
Blackwater hops on a plane, and if they are lucky, the door does not hit them on the ass on the way out of country!
What's the difference....
...between Blackwater troops and U.S. Soldiers?
When you say "I support the troops", but you wouldn't say "I support the blackwater mercenaries" - why is that? When a blackwater mercenary kills an innocent, how can you say it is any more evil than when a U.S. Soldier does the same thing?
You might say that a soldier is more justified because he is partially driven by "patriotism", but why is patriotism - quasi-religious support and reverence for the state - a good thing? Isn't patriotism, love for the state, nationalism, and willingness to kill on behalf of this institution the very source of the suffering that we see in warfare? Isn't it this very same institution - the state - which is funding blackwater and creating the occupational scenario in which their services are requested?
Sure, I'd love to see blackwater out of NC - but I'd also like to see all armed gangs of mercenaries out of NC (such as the US Military, ATF, IRS, DEA, FBI, etc). It just seems so silly to see people on the left getting their panties in a wad over blackwater when the elephant in the room is the biggest criminal enterprise in the history of human civilization which they revere as an unquestionably necessary and virtuous institution (the state). Taxes fund mass murder across the globe, but if I oppose taxes I don't care about people. Taxes are theft, but if I oppose taxes I'm a supporter of criminals. The State is the biggest terrorist organization (state terrorism newspeak is "shock and awe") in the entire world (as measured by numbers of innocent people killed alone), yet when I oppose the state I'm accused of being "soft on terrorism". The state charters, subsidizes, and rigs the market in favor of the corporations, but when I oppose economic interventionism I'm accused of supporting corporate interests (by people who support the corporate candidates no less).
If your ideology is essentially founded upon the belief that 1) violence should be utilized and monopolized for social control, 2) violence should play a larger part in regulating human affairs, (aka any brand of statism including progressivism, socialism, fascism, corporatism, pick your color), you have practically no right to complain about violent groups like blackwater. It's just so hypocritical. (not directing this to anyone in particular, just a general statement).

Mom always said,
"If you gots nothing good to say, dont say nothing at all."
We might be brothers
My Mom (and I capitalize it out of respect) said that VERY same thing a lot. She was from Chicago...so had the vernacular...loved it, parmea.
