Lake Research Partners poll
Lake Research is showing Secretary of State Elaine Marshall with a double-digit lead:
The Lake Research Partners poll shows her [Elaine Marshall] with 31 percent support, compared to 5 percent for Cal Cunningham, 4 percent for Ken Lewis, 3 percent for Marcus Williams and 1 percent for John Hendrix. However, 56 percent of the voters are undecided.
General election polls show Elaine is the best candidate to challenge Burr in November. In a head to head match-ups Elaine performs better than her DC backed rival. Those familiar with both the Secretary of State and Senate Burr prefer Elaine 5 to 4.
This is now the fourth in a series of polls showing a double-digit lead for Elaine as voters begin tuning into the Senate primary. Nate Silver currently predicts that she is all but a lock to win the nomination at 75% certainty.
As my friend Thomas points out, touting a poll isn't particularly endearing, but please forgive my relief that North Carolina isn't as easily bought as some had hoped.

And, we will be there
And, Jerimee, take it to the bank that if it does work out that Elaine wins the primary, the VAST majority of we Cal supporters will immediately be on board in her campaign. Now is not the time for petty party bickering and animosities. I hope Elaine's supporters feel the same way. This one is important..Very important. Many polls are showing Burr with himself having good-sized leads over both Elaine and Cal. So, if we can believe them, we have some serious work ahead of us.
Thanks for the update.
