Language, people
Hope no one minds this, but these two essays are so funny that I want to circulate them.
The first takes President-elect Obama to task for using complete sentences (Andy Borowitz)

and the second offers observations about Sarah Palin's somewhat different approach to communication (Dick Cavett).

Believe it or not

I strongly recommend these essays, folks. They are wonderfully written and great fun to read.

They are wonderful. I didn't know Dick Cavett was writing. I think I saw that just a day or two ago and wound up reading through some of his archives. What a treat!
Thanks for linking to them.

What a treat!
Dick Cavett is one of my very favorite writers. Clicking links, I found an essay in which he referred to this essay by George Orwell. It was written over 60 years ago, but it is still worth reading today.
Politics and the English Language
I didn't click through and read that the first time
but I'll put it on my list.
