Launch party!
Well, I did it. Last night I had my first public reading of Jesus Swept. And despite being a nervous Nelly, it all went off smoothly. Once my voice settled in, I really enjoyed the chance to read to the very wonderful crowd assembled at Market Street Books, in Southern Village. We had about 25 people in attendance and sold lots of books. Proceeds went to the store, which is also a non-profit community center.
Signing for Robert P.
Me being nervous
Chit-chatting afterwards
Thanks to all my friends and supporters for joining me on this World Premier! Special thanks to AJ Mayhew for her gracious introduction, and to Katie of Market Street Books for making it all possible.
Cheers!

I'm not nodding off,
in case anybody's wondering. :)
Those are my "traveling" reading glasses, which have tiny little lenses that (I assumed) would be sufficient for the occasional map-reading. But you have to point your head directly at whatever you're trying to read, like a bird searching for a worm.
Very enjoyable get-together, James.
Oh to live closer....
What section did you read? Are you thinking about doing an audio book? When are we going to live blog with you about Jesus Swept? (Appeases kept)
Mo, I'm thinking the Country Bookshop needs to know about this
They've got a great space for readings, and we could introduce a bunch of folks to James' writing.
Good idea Linda
Do you know the owner? I would be able to round up quite a few people who would love to hear the author read.
No, I don't.
But I'm not shy - I can go in and talk to them. James - do you have press kits?
I don't
Mostly I just send people to my website, which will be new and improved starting next week!.
dang! I missed it!
I was there recently to buy your book and wanted to go last night. I couldn't get my son off the "slopes" - last bit of sledding - til late and then when we drove to town for dinner, I hit a deer. It was a young deer, no damage to the car(did not see the deer afterward but he was hit hard). After that I was just shaken and we went home. Glad it went well!
