Legislative Dems fight back in GOP's War on Women

Trying to unplug the GOP's time machine:

"Planned Parenthood saves lives," said Rep. Alma Adams, D-Guilford, noting that it's the only healthcare available to many low-income women and men. She said most county health departments are not equipped to offer those primary services. "Republicans claim they're for keeping government out of people's lives. Why doesn't that apply when it comes to women's lives?" asked Adams.

Because Republicans (even females) have a fundamental fear and mistrust of how emancipated women will shape our society, so they place roadblocks in their way whenever possible. Economic roadblocks, reproductive roadblocks, cultural roadblocks, etc. And our society suffers for it.

Democrats said they're also filing bills to repeal the "Women's Right to Know" act, a law that requires doctors to read a state-mandated script to women seeking abortions, explaining (among other things) that the father could be required to provide financial help and that government assistance may be available to her.

In the spirit of "women's right to know", here's what government assistance they can actually expect from Republicans:

railroaded out of town

sounds about right to me.

Progressives are the true conservatives.

Well, women do have the right

Well, women do have the right to know everything that there is to know. Women do have the choice of what they want to do when it comes to abortion but that does not mean that tax payers should be forced to pay for it. This is where the true problem lies.

If there is a true separation of church and state then the government should not force people to pay for abortions in the website lounge when they consider it against their religion.

In other words

Only women who can afford certain kinds of health care (contraception, for example) get to have it. As to the rest, well, tough sh|t. Make 'em have babies and then let someone else worry about those babies when they get abandoned or neglected.

Sounds like a plan.
